Cochrane Collaboration - Steering Group Elections

The Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group (CCSG) consists of elected representatives from the various entities that constitute The Cochrane Collaboration:

Cochrane Review Groups (6)
Methods Groups (1)
Fields (1)
The Consumer Network (2)
Centres (4)
Trials Search Co-ordinator (1)
Co-Chairs, representing no specific entity (2)

Elected representatives serve a three-year term, and are eligible to stand for a second consecutive three-year term. To ensure continuity, elections are held each year to replace a proportion of the CCSG, thereby ensuring a mix of experience and fresh enthusiasm. The constitutional requirements of The Cochrane Collaboration, its members and its Steering Group are described in the Memorandum and Articles of Association (often referred to as “the Constitution”). Job descriptions are available for the following positions:

- CCSG Co-Chair

- CCSG Member

For more information on election processes and procedures, please refer to the Collaboration's document on Process for election to the Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group.

If you would like to view the list of people who are members of, or who have been members of, the Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group, please refer to the document on Rotation of CCSG members. Please note that the document also details when each member was elected, and each member's end of term on the Steering Group. There is also available a comprehensive list of all CCSG members.

For historical information on the evolution and development of the current Cochrane elections process, please refer to the documents on History of the Elections Working Group - recommendations and decisions and How the new voting process was developed.

See the 2006, 2007 and 2008 pages for more information on yearly elections.

Please contact The Cochrane Collaboration Secretariat if you have any questions about the electoral process.
