Preparing and writing a Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) review

Objectives: To understand Cochrane and EPOC processes from title registration to review publication and to understand the review methods which are very common in EPOC reviews. Summary: This workshop will address specific issues related to writing EPOC reviews such as:

defining an appropriate question;

using the EPOC taxonomy;

determining which study designs to include;

designing the optimal search strategy for an EPOC review;

using the EPOC register;

dealing with multiple designs within one review;

lumping and splitting issues;

analysing data from complex interventions.

The audience will be encouraged to participate in the discussion. Level of knowledge required to attend: basic/intermediate.
