The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews contains many reviews of relevance to the aftermath of natural disasters, which are being brought together in Evidence Aid. This Cochrane editorial is by Tracey Perez Koehlmoos, Programme Head of the Health and Family Planning Systems Programme at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research in Bangladesh. Tracey describes some of this work and highlights the need for researchers to go beyond these reviews, to provide the information needed to implement effective interventions that will save lives and promote health.
