This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:

To assess the effects of smoking cessation interventions on tobacco smoking in adults receiving inpatient psychiatry treatment.

To assess whether the effects of smoking cessation interventions differ according to psychiatric diagnosis or type of intervention or comparator condition.
